Brand New For 2011 From the "Goosegetter"

The Goosegetter Spread Unit

Welcome to my Central Nebraska Scouting Reports Page

We hunt the Platte River West of Doniphan NE and a Small Wetland by Harvard Marsh east of Hastings, NE.  Check back to see how our hunting is going starting with early Teal Season.

3-6-12   Coming to any end pretty quickly this year.  Peak numbers have moved north.  We will probably hunt for another 10 day and see what happens with the juvy flight.

2-29-12   Lots of snows coming by everyday.  Not to many dirty birds yet. Shooting a few every morning.  Should be good till at least March 15th.  It has probably been  a week or so early this year.  Fields are very dry now.

2-15-12  GAME ON!!!   Snow is just about gone and the snows and blues  are coming hard into south central Nebraska.  Saturday will be our first day in the blind. We say about 15 bunches coming north day while setting the spread.

1-16-12  Pretty slow on the river. Not hunting much at the present.  If the weather hold, there should be a movement of little canadas coming to the river soon. Maybe a few snows.  I will post up when I start seeing some white.  Very Dry around my neck of the woods. Here is a pic of the river set up.

11-8-11  As Good as it gets on the River Today. Major Push of new birds. Steady stream of geese going south all morning. Mallards starting to show up. Still a lot of Greenwings.  Full Moon?

11-4-11  Hunting has been very good on the Platte.  Shooting a mixed bag about every day.
Not limits but enough to make it fun.  We love trickle the  migration.  Divers and canadas today.
10-31-11  Shooting every day on the river.  Still some blue wings around.  Mallards and Pins yesterday.  Next front is wednesday.  Off till then.  Marsh is dry.  Don't waste your time there.

10-26-11  Nice Push on the River Yesterday. Very mixed bag.  North wind @ 25 should bring a few for this morning.
Pretty slow over by Harvard Marsh. Dry. Will check this weekend and see if they are pumping any water into the Marsh.

9-3-11  Pretty rainy out this morning. We shot a little short of a limit.  Did see 10 bunches before the lightning ran us off.  Must be some water over on the marsh although weed appear to be pretty high.

8-12-11  Checked our pond over by harvard marsh today.   Pond was down a little but still huntable. I'm pretty sure the marsh has some water in it but the weeds are really heavy. Did see a couple of small groups of Blue Wings.
